Lesson Plans

These lesson plans model ways of using works of art to encourage K-12 students to investigate connections between art and science. The lesson plans may be used to generate ideas for integrated instruction or as stand-alone activities that reinforce goals and objectives for each content area. The lesson plans are adaptable to varying amounts of time and depth of instruction.

Investigate the development of a theme, such as Ties to the Earth. Encourage inquiry-based discussion of the art works in the lessons. Make correlations to state or national standards for art and science. Develop an art and nature unit based on an extension activity.
