Lesson Plans

These lesson plans, written by faculty at the North Carolina School of Science and Math, model ways of using works of art to encourage students in grades 9-12 to investigate connections between art and American history. The lesson plans may be used to generate ideas for integrated instruction or as stand-alone activities that reinforce goals and objectives for each content area. The lesson plans are adaptable to varying amounts of time and depth of instruction. Art and history teachers are encouraged to collaborate in the teaching of these lessons.
