Peccary Effigy Jar,

This work of art is a jar made of clay and painted. The bottom end is fashioned in the shape of the head and legs of a peccary, an animal similar to a pig. Like pigs, peccaries have long, slightly curled noses, and the artist shows this feature on the jar. Imagine the jar standing upright so that it would hold liquid. Then the peccary would appear to be balancing on its nose and elbows, which would serve as the legs of the jar.
