Lesson Plans—Activities Compare the way Monet, Van Gogh and Signac use color. Make a color copy of each of these paintings. Divide these copies into quadrants, and give each student one of these small pieces. Have students identify the colors their artist uses in proximity to one another and locate them on a color wheel. Are these primary, secondary or complementary colors? Have students analyze the type of brushstrokes the different artists use to apply these colors. What kind of brush might they have used? Have students re-create the quadrant they were given. Combine the quadrants to re-create the paintings. Have students analyze and compare their experiences working in these styles. | ||||||||||
