MATISSE MADNESS: Museum open 32 hours!

The exhibition is sold out. Some tickets may be released throughout the night on a limited basis on a first-come basis


$12 General admission
$9 Seniors, students, groups of 10+ and state employees with identification
Museum members and children 12 and under are free.
Student groups are free with advance reservation.

Tickets are sold for a particular date and time of entry.

Tickets may be purchased in person at the Museum Box Office or by calling the Box Office at (919) 715-5923 at least two days in advance. No phone orders are accepted for same day admission. The Box Office accepts cash, personal checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.

MATISSE MADNESS: Museum open 32 hours!
During the last weekend of Matisse, Picasso and the School of Paris, the NCMA stays open 32 hours—from 9 a.m., Sat., Jan. 15, until 5 p.m., Sun., Jan. 16.
Blue Ridge, the Museum Restaurant will be open for brunch (11:30 a.m.—2:30 p.m. Sat. and Sun.) and dinner (5:30—9 p.m. Fri. and Sat.) Make reservations now! (919) 833-3548.

Discount tickets ($6) for Late-Nights can only be purchased on site at the Box Office from 5 p.m.–8:15 p.m.
Regular price tickets ($12) for Late-Nights may be purchased in advance.

Holiday Hours: The Museum will be closed Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day.

The Museum Box Office is open during all regular Museum hours. The Box Office also opens two hours prior to show time for outdoor events and one hour prior to show time for indoor events.

From I-40, take the Wade Avenue exit to the Blue Ridge Road exit. At the top of the exit ramp,turn left onto Blue Ridge Road. Follow north for a half-mile. The Museum is on the right

  • Please note: Guided tours for the Matisse, Picasso exhibition are completely booked and unavailable. Due to the high level of public interest we no longer have the space to accommodate tour requests. Group tickets may still be purchased through the Museum box office. Check here for information regarding public tours of the exhibition for the walk-in visitor.

    Blue Ridge, the Museum Restaurant

    Tuesday–Friday, 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m.; Saturday brunch, 11 a.m.–2:30 p.m.; and Sunday brunch, 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

    Blue Ridge will also be open for dinner at 5:30 p.m. on the following Late Nights during Matisse, Picasso and the School of Paris:
    January 6, 7, 13, 14 and every Friday night beginning Jan. 7, 2005

    Museum Store
